School Uniform
The uniform of Danesholme Junior School is as follows:
SHIRTS/BLOUSES/POLO SHIRTS
Shirts/blouses should be plain white with buttons to the neck. Plain white polo shirts may be worn and polo shirts with the school logo on are available from the school office.
SKIRTS/TROUSERS
Skirts and trousers must be plain black. No jeans or tracksuit bottoms to be worn. No trouser skirts.
JUMPERS/CARDIGANS
Jumpers and cardigans must be plain pillar box red and not patterned. They must also be round or V necked. No rolled necked or polo necked sweaters are allowed. Sweatshirts and cardigans with the school logo are available from the school office.
Fleece jackets with the school logo can also be bought at the office.
SHOES AND SOCKS
Shoes must be plain black with flat heels. No black trainers allowed. Socks must be plain black, white or red. Tights must be plain black, white or red.
P.E. KIT
Plain white or Plain red T-shirt/Polo Shirt, black shorts and plimsoles.
Girls may wear plain black gym skirts or leotards if they wish.
PE T-shirts and shorts are available from the school office.
HAIRSTYLES
While the school does not stipulate length of hair or styles etc. it is expected that children will come to school with a practical and manageable hair style. The school does not approve of children coming to school with dyed hair.
JEWELLERY
For safety reasons, only stud earrings are allowed and then only in the ears. Any child who elects to have their nose pierced will have to remove the stud during school times for health and safety reasons. Inexpensive watches may be worn, but these should not include alarms or games. It will be the children's responsibility to look after these articles.

PLEASE ENSURE THAT ALL CLOTHING IS CLEARLY LABELLED WITH YOUR CHILD'S NAME.
Any lost property that is found is usually returned quickly to its owner. All property that is found that isn't clearly labelled with a name is held in the lost property box. Each Year Group has its own lost property box, located centrally.

SUMMER TIME
During the Summer months, girls may wear red/white gingham print school uniform dresses if they wish.
Plain black tailored short trousers (not cycling, football or Bermuda style shorts) may be worn by girls or boys.
As the weather gets warmer you will need to provide a cap and sun cream for your child to wear outside.

Children's Personal Property
Parents are strongly advised not to send children to school with money or valuable items such as expensive watches or jewellery. Teachers may take charge of such items during Physical Education lessons, but it must be emphasised that neither teachers, nor the school, can take responsibility for any valuables that are lost, damaged or stolen.
